Revelation Part One
Jason, Pietta, and Julie had now moved to another room in the underground complex, where a sumptuous meal had been prepared for them. Julie noticed a fourth setting was on the table and just before she was about to ask, the door opened and a tall grey-haired and bespectacled man wearing a grey suit and orange bow tie entered.
` Julie’s face lit up with delight.
“Sir Nigel,” she squealed, slipping around the table to greet him, “wow, it’s so good to see you.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him down to her level. Jason laughed to himself at the look of awkwardness on his friends face.
“You too Julie,” he said, turning as best he could under the weight of Julie hanging from his shoulders. “Pietta, how are you dear, Jason, good to see you back.”
“Professor,” Jason said, still smiling, “good to be back.”
Pietta moved in once Julie had let go and gave the old man a gentle kiss on his cheek.
“Pietta, it is always good to see you, it has been so long.”
“Too long,” she replied, holding his hand and directing him to a place at the table, “let’s eat, I’m famished.”
The four friends ate and little was said of where they were, or why. Most of the discussion was about the years previous and what they had been doing. Jason was silent for most of this discussion, only smiling occasionally and nodding in acknowledgement of comments or discussion.
When they had finished eating, Sir Nigel looked at Jason and spoke.
“Well Jason, will we talk here or at the control centre.”
“I have already shown the girls the control centre,” Jason took up the opportunity to speak dutifully, “and explained much of what we are doing here from a scientific perspective, but I would like to take this opportunity to discuss the prophecy.”
At that suggestion, there was a stunned silence in the room. In all the time Jason had known each of them, he had rarely mentioned the spiritual aspect of what they all knew underpinned their work and his beliefs. They had all somehow known it existed. Pietta and Julie had both been an active participant in some of the strangeness. Sir Nigel had spent most of his previous fifty years studying the phenomena he called the prophecy and knew Jason was somehow the key.
Altogether, they knew deep down there was something beyond science that was a major factor in the worlds continued survival, but this was to be the first time they were to openly discuss it. Jason looked at each of their faces and could see their bated expectancy. He knew now he must share some of his deepest darkest secrets. It was time.
“Since I was very, very, young,” he began, first looking into the soft gaze of Pietta, then the loving eyes of Julie, “I have had a strange but strong connection to the metaphysical world. I accepted this as relatively normal while I was growing up and I feared ridicule if I dared to mention it once I was an adult. It wasn’t until I journeyed into Tibet a few years ago, that I realized what I knew and how it had been purveyed to me, was important and very special. The world was in danger and an age-old prophecy foretold how. By meeting Sir Nigel, I became aware of the efforts of mankind in the future to try to minimize the destruction and save as much of the human race as possible. That’s where science finally, after a thousand years, meets religion, or I should say creationism. We were receiving messages from two distinctly different sciences, warning of the same ultimate catastrophe. The questions were how and why? Science somewhere in our future had discovered a way to alter and model the direction of our existence. Long, long, before that, something else had always been modelling our existence and determining our progress. Something, or someone, had created the perfect circumstances in the universe for living organisms to be created and to develop to such a level that they could become one-day self-creating. We were given directions, indications, and signs to guide us through the maze of this development. At this point, it is important to accept that not everything is determined by and can be explained by science. Even science agrees that creation is random at best, and yet it seems so perfect it defies logic. The first thing we need to understand and accept is that although how we evolve seems random, it is not. Every little action of each and every molecule and person is a remarkably well-orchestrated plan, and as with any plan, its success is not always guaranteed.”
Jason scanned the faces of the three people in the room. These three people he trusted more than any other living persons and he knew they, in turn, trusted and respected him. He knew that what he was telling them would be a big pill to swallow. As developed humans, it would challenge their sensibilities and confront their beliefs. He was sure what he wanted them to believe would be something like when Columbus asked the people of Europe to believe that the world was not flat, or when Galileo wanted everyone to understand that the Earth was not at the centre of the universe, or even when Newton qualified the invisible forces of gravity which at that time were a complete mystery. He was about to ask his friends to believe that he knew the future of the Earth from information given to him by some future scientists and a mystical dark apparition who claimed to be everything in existence, who sometimes disguised itself as a small black cat. And as if that were not enough to swallow, then there was the monk who was blind but could see, who sent him to see an ancient Australian aboriginal warrior, who told him how he was the prophecy that could save the world from certain destruction.
He began by telling them his whole story, this time not leaving out anything. His relationship as a young child to the creature he now called ‘the darkness’, his young life learning to survive by stealing and misadventure, his time in prison as Shane Carter, his dreams and beliefs and his losses and loves. Julie looked at him wide-eyed and Pietta sat silently consuming all she did not know without surprise.
He then explained all about his visit to the temple of light and his meeting with the monk Phan Tu Mah, even his journey with Sheng and what he had told him. He described his meeting with the Aboriginal Elder, Albert Armstrong and his work with Nigel, including the escape from the World Trade Centre. He paused occasionally for a drink and would at those times look around the room at each one of them. Not a word was said by his companions and he guessed it was absorption time for them. Some of what he said was known by each of them but not everything by any of them,
Then he came to his most recent time, just after the death of Kirstie Martin.
“I needed to reconcile myself with her loss and how I felt responsible. Ieko Fujimo had died and yet here was the Ong, still killing people I felt were my responsibility. I was beginning to ask myself where it was all going. I knew Sir Nigel had begun building the underground cities and I knew they had performed tests in space to try to understand how they could control the possibility of a deadly comet. My problem was, I could not understand where the connection was and where my spiritual connection was taking me when it all seemed so inevitable.”
He looked at Nigel Stansen and he saw the years all of a sudden mount on his face. He knew about Nigel’s journey from young anthropologist to leader of the special UN team and how he had travelled to every corner of the earth to find him and others, He suspected, Nigel Stansen had asked the same questions over the years and had also struggled with the connection between spirituality, existence, and science.
“Two years ago I was in Cambodia at an ancient temple near Siem Reap at the request of the Cambodian Government team investigating prophecy for Sir Nigel. I was not sure why they had asked me there until I discovered that they had found one of their time travelling orbs buried inside one of the temples. The difference with this one was that it was not as such buried as more put there by some ancient humans, who most likely had built the temples around the Orb, just like they had in the temple in Tibet. As with all the orbs, it contained information in the material it was constructed with. They had asked me to come because this one contained pictures of me. A bit mind-blowing if you know what I mean, especially where I was in my head at that time.”
He looked at Nigel, who knew exactly what he was coming too, as it was Nigel that had asked him to go to Siem Reap.
“Up until then, apart from knowing what Nigel and his UN team were building and preparing for, I had not been all that much involved, apart from directing them to orbs like the one at the bottom of the sea off Japan and the one in Tibet. This time it was much different, the orb contained information about a warlord called Jason King that had controlled the military might and technology of the world they lived in. As you might expect, this was concerning to me, to say the least, as it had never been my intention in this world to have any such power. Maybe a Bill Gatwick, or Ieko Fujimo, but not Jason King. It seemed that not only was destiny fluid, but the matter within it could also be very different when exposed to different circumstances. After I got over my initial shock, it actually gave us hope that we could change things for the better and quite significantly.”
Jason stood up and walked to the lights and switched them off, then pushed a button on what looked like his phone and a three-dimensional hologram appeared in the centre of the table. It was the head of an aged looking man with a long, white, beard.
Revelation Part Two
“This is what was called ‘The Magician’ by those that served him,” Jason smiled as he said it, “that was nearly one thousand years ago when he presented himself to some medieval knights in a real place in England that has a resemblance to the mystical place called Camelot.”
The girls looked at the motionless head incredulously.
“The Magician came from an orb sent from the future. We know this because the orb that we found, preserved and hidden in Siem Reap, was like a catalogue of every orb sent from the future and it provided us with vast amounts of information about how our history formed or changed as a result of the Orbs.”
Jason stopped talking and walked around the darkened room. The head in the middle of the table had a soft iridescent glow that radiated outwards and bathed them in soft bluish light. Jason found it almost hypnotizing and he thought it most likely would have had that effect on the medieval knights.
"This orb," continued Jason, "catalogued nearly twenty others that had preceded it and to date, Nigel’s team have only found five. One was sent to give Moses the Ten Commandments, two to influence the end of the Roman Empire, several to influence the discovery of the Americas and other globally significant life-changing inventions, notable ones being penicillin and photography. All in all, they were only used for the intention of improving human existence or speeding up human development. I think the Roman Empire thing was because of their own history where we learned that it had not fallen as in ours.“
Jason paused for a while. He seemed to be lost in some deep thought for a moment and his audience waited with expectation for the next mind-blowing revelation.
When he continued it was with some hesitation.
"I...I wasn't sure how to mix in the next thing I want to tell you."
He paused, again.
"I told you about my spiritual guide, and I told you about going to Siem Reap for Nigel, but I have told no-one what happened next."
Jason stood from his chair and walked to a window in the room that looked out into the underground city. He then slowly turned to face them.
"While in Siem Reap I was visited by my spirit friend ‘the darkness’."
He stopped and looked at their faces but no-one indicated any doubt in what he said.
"I thought it unusual because I had not seen him since I was a teenager. I would often talk to him throughout my life and I even believe that in his own way he answered me, no different I guess to when Christians pray to their God. Over the latter years of my life, when I did not actually see it, I began to think that maybe it could have been a manifestation I had used to convince myself of my own beliefs. Don't get me wrong, I always believed that my childhood experiences were all real enough to a young and imaginative mind but as time passes you begin to wonder what the reality was. This time though it was very real and although I had no fear of it, of course, I knew the reason he had come to me was out of absolute necessity. As he actually said to me, the only time he appears to adult humans is when a world-changing event is necessary, or they are about to die. He assured me I was not about to die, so that was some relief."
He smiled, walked back to the table, touching Julie's arm softly as he passed and then took his seat again.
"The gravity of what he then told me has brought us all here today. I must share with you what I know and if you choose to believe me then I suggest you will go back into the world, prepare yourself and your lives, and then come back here to live for the next ten years."
He looked around the room and saw the inevitable looks of shock. All except for Nigel of course, who had already shifted into the underground city. He took a deep breath and began.
"For the first time ever, ‘the Darkness’, as I will call it, talked to me about the future. He first took me through how it has the power to change the history of our world right down to the millisecond and he explained to me how they used humans in other dimensions to send the orbs we have found. I think it is the first time I have felt that I knew how to link my life experiences to those of Nigel’s world."
He stopped for a short moment and took a drink of water from a glass sitting in front of him on the table.
"I won't go over every event we discussed, as it had taken an entire night with me in Siem Reap and it had completely exhausted me just taking it all in, but the Darkness did tell me how it and others like it, had actively changed our history right from the earliest thoughts of pre-man creatures through to modern-day events and into our future. You see, time is not really as we see it."
Jason lifted up the little device again that was like a mobile phone and pressed more buttons. Over the middle of the table where the bearded head had been, appeared a helix that revolved and then slowly turned inside out and back again as it slowly rotated above the surface of the table.
"We think that we move through time, whereas the reality is that time is actually a helix of time paths, where timelines never cross, they travel past each other in close proximity at quite regular intervals but never intersect. There is not just one spiralling time dimension but millions that all make up one huge time dimension."
Now multiple helix shapes appeared, all revolving and turning inside out at different intervals and spiralling around each other.
"It is a bit like how billions of pieces of DNA make up a living creature."
All of the helix shapes now shrank, each to almost into invisibility and what now formed was a larger nebula that looked like a galaxy.
"They cumulatively form an overall perspective that is actually the chemistry of all existence. All of these spirals, that also include the physical dimensions that we are involved in, create a universe. If we could see it from somewhere distant enough we would see that it is a living creature which is in fact what our Universe is. Just as in our bodies, the smaller things make up the larger part that is us, each and every small piece that makes up this universal being is each a very important piece of its life puzzle. The Darkness and others like it have the job to grow these spirals and the physical entities within them and they have the ability to manipulate the content using the time spirals. As an example, the time spiral that we sit in right now is just one of many that make up our future. Our future humans, sending their orbs to influence the overall future, have found a way to bridge and influence the overall outcome of other closely linked spirals. In a way, this is what ‘the Darkness’ and his type have been doing since the beginning of time. ‘The Darkness’ admitted to me that it had purposefully given the future humans the ability to change configurations within the spiral to suit their needs. It said to me that the objective was to grow humans from a primitive creature to a being that could be self-determining."
He stopped to just make sure he had not lost them. The look on their faces suggested so far he had not. He took another drink of water and continued. The helix had now returned to the size it had been and it rotated continuously in front of them as it hovered over the table surface.
"It was no coincidence that ‘the Darkness’ had come to me in Siem Reap and the orb we discovered there had a complete catalogue of all the orbs. ‘The Darkness’ told me it had influenced the future to send this orb, as it knew Nigel would send me there and it wanted me to have all of this information at the one time. I asked it why should it be me? The answer surprised even me. Evidently, I have the oldest soul in our living world and because of that, it is my given right and duty to prepare the world for what is about to happen. It then went on to tell me that it is what we call the soul that makes us different from other creatures and able to grow the way we do. The soul is our link to a singular consciousness that we all share. A soul is created only once and never dies. The soul is like an evolved version of animal instinct. It allows us to do quite amazing things, like knowing right from wrong, communicating with other souls, and it continues to grow and add to the singular consciousness forever."
Jason paused for a moment and a smile came to his lips as if a thought had made him happy.
"It is amusing to me that all this time, our scientists have puzzled over two major issues in our Universe. One was the determination of the extra mass of the Universe they could not see which they called dark matter and the other was the energy they could not find that propelled the Universe through its evolution, growing instead of diminishing. They called this dark energy. The mass they could not see was the millions of pasts and futures all growing and surviving in the billions of time helix that made up the Universe but are completely invisible to humans. The Dark Energy is the basis for mankind’s spirituality. Dark energy is the growing number of souls within the time spirals. Once a soul is created it never dies and the creation and summation of them creates an unmeasurable but significant combined energy that actually expands the Universe or should I say, grows the Universe. The living Universe is like an infant child that was born fourteen billion years ago and currently has not even reached puberty. Evidently, my soul was among the first created in our helix and therefore, I have the onerous position of being considered an elder, forever. Elders by the significance of their age, are required to assist ‘the Darkness’ in its function to evolve the species and in turn, keep the living Universe healthy and growing."
Jason stood once again and put the handheld control on the table in front of the spiralling helix. He walked again to the window. The room was quiet as no-one seemed to know what to say. He looked out over the underworld city.
"We as a race are heading towards a calamitous event. We became too clever at staying alive. The evolution of our race and the growth of the living Universe relies as much on death, as it does in life. Our predecessors were always very good at killing each other. War, famine, lack of knowledge, these all contributed to the necessary slow growth of the number of souls and the energy that the Universe needed to grow. The trouble with that is you can grow too quick, even a living Universe. We got so good at staying alive and we became mature enough not to kill ourselves in too great a numbers, that the number of old souls became exhausted and the new souls that were growing from the Universes energy source were becoming weak and less defined as humans. In a way, it is time for a cull and ‘the Darkness’ must make that happen. We cannot stop it, but we must not be wiped out by it."
He turned back to face the three people that made up his inner circle of life.
"There will be a string of natural disasters the likes the world has never seen. ‘The Darkness’ has been planning this for the last one hundred thousand years. We have felt some of the tremors in recent years of the earth’s crust colliding with each other. We know that in 2036 we will most likely be struck by a killer asteroid that could wipe out surface life on the planet. According to ‘the Darkness’, this must all happen but how mankind copes with it and survives is up to us."
He looked at the fear in their eyes and it made him sad. He knew that they were thinking about their friends and life as it is on the surface now and how what he was telling them was threatening that very normal existence.
"Nothing is set and can't be changed and ‘the Darkness’ knows this. That is why it made this so significant an event. It knew anything smaller and we could have found a way to avert it. We have become a very clever life force. We have built these underground cities to avoid the massive surface destruction that the coming together of the Earths tectonic plates will cause in the next few years. We have begun preparing to destroy as much of the killer asteroid as we can to prevent global extinction. ‘The Darkness’ knows we will do all of this. It has allowed a future man to assist us. But, it knows we will lose a significant number of lives and that we cannot stop that entirely. It knows this will relieve the pressure on the Universe's dark energy and it knows we will evolve as an even greater life form as a result. Because that is what we do. We die so we can live. We destroy so we can create. We are the living Universe."
He looked from face to face. Julie was now just looking down at the table in front of her. Pietta had tears in her eyes and looked straight back at Jason, and Nigel was looking at the two girls with obvious concern.
"I believe we have about six years to make our plans and move down to this city for the long haul. I would suggest you go back to the surface and make your plans. You can bring down your direct family but you can’t tell them where they are coming until they are here. Everyone who comes here the first time never leaves, except for a very select few."
He knew that the only one who had a family was Pietta. She had an elderly mother living in Hong Kong.
"Do you have any questions?"
Julie stood suddenly and ran out of the room. All eyes followed her and Jason stood as if to follow but stopped when he saw the look on Pietta’s face. He was not sure what he should do. He thought to himself how strange it was that he had been given such wisdom by virtue of the age of his soul and yet day to day crisis was no different for him to deal with, as it was for any other human.
He stopped next to Pietta and put his hand on her shoulder. She did not lift her head.
"I am not coming back," she said softly.
Jason felt his stomach turn at her words. This had been his greatest fear.
Chapter seventy one
The Revelation
And I saw the dead, great and small,
Standing before the throne, and books were opened. Also another book was opened, the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, As recorded in the books.
